In 2021, Ukraine increased beef imports by 34% and exports by 11%.

According to 2021 results, the Ukrainian meat market increased beef imports to 2.78 thousand tons, 34% more than in 2020. The most significant amount of frozen meat was supplied to Ukraine – 1.94 thousand tons (70% of total supplies). In addition, import of Fresh and chilled meat amounted to 0.84 thousand tons,” reported UCAB. The largest beef importers are Austria with 1.148 tons, Lithuania with 534 tons, and the USA with 182 tons. The association notes that the volume of Ukrainian beef exports also showed a slight increase in 2021. Ukrainian exporters shipped 27.55 thousand tons of meat to other countries, 11% more than last year.
