Coal regions to be transformed.

The Strategy of Economic Development of Donetsk and Luhansk regions envisages the transformation of these coal regions by 2030 and the mitigation of social consequences. According to Marta Bukhtiyarova, Director General of the Directorate of Strategic Planning and European Integration of the Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied, it has planned to modernize profitable mines and privatize or close the other ones. Meanwhile, pilot projects will be implemented with the support of international partners in other coal regions, namely, Chervonohrad and Myrnohrad.
