Bilateral “strategic dialogue” launched on energy and climate.

The energy ministers of Ukraine and the US agreed on August 31 to initiate such a process. At their meeting, in which President Zelensky participated, Ukraine’s energy security concerns were addressed, as well as ways of intensifying cooperation in the energy sector, combating climate change and “green” transformation. He stressed the importance of creating effective safeguards against Russia’s use of gas as a weapon and the importance of launching regular trilateral consultations in the Ukraine-Germany-US format on the preservation of Ukrainian transit and ensuring European energy security.
