Dragon Capital and Epicentr are installing solar panels on the roofs of their Ukrainian facilities.

By April 2025, the investment company Dragon Capital will install solar panels with a capacity of 1.2 MW on the roof of the company’s warehouse in Tarasivka, said top manager Volodymyr Tymochko.

“The amount of investment in the project is about $400,000,” he says.

But he adds that on an annual average, alternative energy sources will provide 25% of the building’s total needs. Tymochko says that in two years the company plans to install solar panels on the roofs of 10 of its facilities. Dragon Capital has studied the market extensively over a long period of time and believes now is the best time to invest in renewable energy sources. Solar panels are becoming cheaper, energy costs are increasing, and the payback period is decreasing.

A similar project is being implemented by the Epicentr group of companies, which is installing solar power stations on the roofs of its shopping centers. The goal is to install 108 MW of generation on an area of 1.8 million square meters. So far, the retail giant has installed 7.5 MW of solar power generation.
