Ukrainians prefer cars with environmentally friendly engines.

Last month, the number of newly registered vehicles with traditional engines decreased in Ukraine. According to Ukravtoprom, in January 2023 most cars registered for the first time in Ukraine were equipped with traditional internal combustion engines, either gasoline or diesel. However, their market share continues to decrease. In particular, the segment of new passenger cars with gasoline engines decreased by 6%, and diesel cars also lost 6% of the market. Vehicles with gasoline engines composed only 1% of January’s new passenger cars, which is 1% less than last year. At the same time, the share of hybrids and electric vehicles grew from 11% and 2% in January 2022 to 16% and 10% in January 2023, respectively. Similar trends are observed in the used car market.
