Today, the state can contract 67 variants of Ukrainian drones that have passed the admission procedures. In 2022, there were only seven of them. Currently, 200 companies related to the production of drones are registered in Ukraine. The influx of money into the industry and the simplification of regulations have allowed them to increase the total domestic drone production capacity by 100 times compared to levels at the beginning of the Russian Federation’s invasion.
“From June 2023 to January 2024, drones purchased by the Drone Army hit 14,000 targets. These include tanks, armored personnel carriers, strongholds, etc.,” the Ministry of Digital Transformation says.
The Ministry of Digital Affairs reports that in a year and a half, the authorities have adopted about 20 laws and regulations that simplify the production of UAVs. These new operational guidelines include simplificationof the admission process, export control, and the cancellation of VAT and customs duty on components, which has increased profit margins for manufacturers to 25%, and eased restrictions in the ammunition market.
