Україна разом з партнерами відбудовує енергосистему: скільки грошей витратять?

Ukrainian government and businesses are working to restore the energy facilities that was destroyed by the Russians.

As a result of shelling, Ukraine lost 50% of its power generation capacity. Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal noted that 42 thermal power units were destroyed, 27% of large TPPs are working, 73% are currently nonoperational, and 20 hydropower units. According to Shmyhal, in addition to working on the restoration of stations, work is also ongoing to increase the import of electricity from the EU.

The prime minister specified, “We have a capacity of 2.2 GW; so far, we are allowed to import 1.7 GW.”

In addition, the development of decentralized generation is underway: cogeneration plants, gas turbines, generators, and diesel generators are being imported.

The government is also preparing a preferential lending program to purchase generating plants from alternative sources. The compensation for installations with a capacity of up to 10 kW per household will be ₴244,000, and the maximum loan amount is ₴480,000 for five years.

The state and businesses also work to save electricity by reducing consumption through a revision of the suburban electric train schedule and switching off air conditioners and external lighting on buildings and the surrounding area.
