Most orders are private investments, as farming and agricultural companies have seen the prospect of developing the domestic market amid increasing domestic consumer spending.

In part, the development of domestic consumption is related to problems with the transportation of vegetables abroad and the blocking of borders with Western countries by local farmers. That is why the reorientation of producers to the domestic market has taken place. In this way, Ukrainian manufacturers displace imported products.

The total losses from Russian aggression to vegetables in storage are estimated at approximately 150,000 tons. For 2023, 20,000 tons of capacity have been built. Most of the vegetable warehouses are intended to store onions – 70%, carrots – 15%, and potatoes – 15%.

Farmers have already ordered the construction of 25,000 tons of vegetable warehouse volume in February. Still, in the peak season – until the beginning of summer, these orders could reach up to 40,000 tons.
