Ukrainian employers have pinpointed the most sought-after professions and voiced concerns regarding job seekers' unrealistic salary expectations.

A labor market study reveals that the most in-demand roles largely consist of blue-collar specialties. The top professions listed include agricultural tractor driver, mechanic-repairman, electric and gas welder, electrician, medical nurse, motor vehicle driver, and seamstress. This compilation will guide the State Employment Service’s initiatives in training the unemployed and combatants.

The study highlights that approximately 35% of employers intend to raise salaries in 2025; however, many applicants possess unrealistic financial expectations, leading to a disconnect between supply and demand in the labor market.

Additionally, Opendatabot has created a ranking of the largest employers for 2025. The top ten includes seven state-owned and state-controlled firms, as well as three private companies. For four consecutive years, Ukrzaliznytsia has remained the largest employer in Ukraine, employing 178,616 individuals (a decrease of 5% from last year). ATB-Market follows in second place with 46,084 employees (an increase of 2,000 annually), while the Gas Distribution Networks of Ukraine ranks third with 37,714 employees (adding 4,200 this year).
