Ukrainian businesses are ready to work in the EU: What forecast do entrepreneurs give regarding the terms of Ukraine’s accession?

Business expectations worsened in July across all sectors.

31% of the member companies of the EBA believe that they are fully ready to operate in the EU currently, 38% are primarily ready, 26% are partially prepared, and only 5% are not ready. 71% of companies positively assess the impact of Ukraine’s European integration movement on their business, while 21% do not feel any effect. As well, 52% believe that Ukraine’s progress in fulfilling its European integration obligations is satisfactory, and 5% – significant. However, 42% assess Ukraine’s European integration efforts as insignificant.

The business community sees the greatest progress in digital transformation, media, transport policy, and agriculture. Ukraine demonstrates the least progress in the directions of justice, freedom, and security.

39% of survey participants believe it will take Ukraine between five and ten years to become a full EU member. Another 30% believe that the country will be able to join the EU within the next five years, and 26% assume that it will take more than ten years.
