In 2025, the state may face a shortage of more than half a million qualified workers. The lack of qualified personnel is already significantly affecting wage dynamics, which in the context of GDP growth raises questions among economists, noted the President of the Confederation of Employers, Mykhailo Miroshnychenko.

“GDP is growing by 4%, and wages are increasing by 14%. Yes, wage growth should be greater than price and GDP growth, but not in such proportions,” he said.

Competition between state institutions and private companies has become one of the labor market’s main challenges. This leads to increased staff turnover and intensified struggles for qualified specialists. The main factors influencing the situation are emigration, demographic decline, and the unpopularity of technical professions.

According to Miroshnychenko, solving the problem requires a systemic approach. It requires popularizing technical professions, creating conditions for the return of Ukrainians from abroad, and modernizing labor relations.
