Gas market participants booked more than 195M cubic meters of capacity for natural gas imports to Ukraine in February 2022, announced the GTS Operator. 124.8M cubic meters were reserved at the “Bereg” virtual outlet (Hungary), and 70.3M – at the “Bedenice” point (Slovakia). At the same time, additional capacities for gas transit at the eastern points of entry to the GTS of Ukraine were not reserved. The company stressed that the Hungarian import direction to Ukraine remains popular with customers in 2022, although this route was only opened in 2021. According to last year’s results, 90% of imported gas came to Ukraine through intermittent capacity from Hungary.
