Minister of Agricultural Policy Vitaly Koval mentioned that the agro-processing sector demonstrated growth last year. The most significant increase was seen in fruit and vegetable processing (over 27%), along with oil, animal fats, and dairy product production (approximately 13-14%).
“Another positive indicator is the production of meat and meat products ($3.8B) and fish processing, which surpassed the 2021 figures by 1.5% and 8.1%, respectively,” he noted.
According to Koval, this growth is also evident in the overall export of food products, which reached $5.7B in 2024, marking an increase of over 20.8% compared to 2023. Notably, meat and meat product exports rose by 270%. Moreover, 60 Ukrainian dairy plants are now accredited in the EU.
“All of this demonstrates that Ukraine is confidently progressing from exporting raw materials to sending finished products with high added value. We are making gradual strides toward transforming the country from an agricultural nation to one that is agro-industrial,” Koval concluded.
