Ukraine has officially joined the international ePhyto Solution system (Electronic Phytosanitary Certificate System), enabling the exchange of electronic phytosanitary certificates with 124 countries globally, including the US, Canada, the EU, and Oceania, as stated by the Ukrainian government.
From this point forward, Ukraine’s participation in ePhyto will streamline export procedures, enhance the transparency of the certification system, and create new opportunities for Ukrainian producers. ePhyto’s implementation offers numerous advantages for exporters: It eliminates the possibility of certificate forgery, simplifies trade procedures, boosts transparency, broadens and simplifies export avenues, and helps prevent unauthorized imports.
ePhyto is a worldwide electronic platform that facilitates the exchange of digital certificates between countries. It was developed under the guidance of the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC), which is part of the FAO. Phytosanitary certificates are official documents that confirm that plant products comply with international phytosanitary standards and are free from pests and diseases. These certificates are issued for the export, import, and re-export of agricultural products.
