Ukraine has increased its annual arms production to $30B but has only $10B to purchase weapons for the military.

Ukrainian enterprises that comprise the defense-industrial complex can annually manufacture products with a total value of $30B, Minister of Strategic Industries Herman Smetanin said.

Ukraine has already established serial production of an entire range of mortar and artillery ammunition, including the production of 155-mm shells. Ukraine produces a huge range of weapons, from drones to large, armored vehicles. This also includes up to 20 self-propelled artillery units manufactured monthly – more than in any other country in the free world.

“We have developed our swarms of drones and implemented artificial intelligence,” the minister added.

Smetanin also pointed to other achievements of the Ukrainian defense industry: hundreds of millions of dollars in foreign investment and joint ventures with defense industry giants.

However, the presidential adviser on strategic issues, Oleksandr Kamyshin, specified that next year Ukraine will have only $10B to purchase domestic weapons, so it urgently needs the financial support of its partners to maximize its weapon production and supplies sent to the frontlines.
