Ukraine and Denmark summed up the results of their cooperation under the Danish model: Ukraine's Armed Forces have already received weapons worth €538M.

In 2024, Ukraine and Denmark successfully implemented cooperation under the Danish model of financing in the Ukrainian defense industry. The primary sources of financing include:

  1. €125M from Denmark through the national Ukraine Fund
  2. €20M from the Sweden
  3. €2.7M from Iceland
  4. €390M in interest generated by frozen Russian assets

As part of the initiative, Ukraine is assembling a list of priority projects, and Danish experts are checking with companies and assessing their ability to fulfill contracts. Completed contracts during the first stage of the Danish model, produced Bohdana self-propelled artillery systems, long-range drones, and anti-tank and anti-ship missiles. The purchased equipment is already operating effectively on the battlefield.

“I am impressed by the speed with which the Ukrainian defense industry is providing,” the Danish Defense Ministry emphasized.

The country has already reserved €135M for continued purchases of Ukrainian weapons.

Norway also plans to allocate approximately €43M to support Ukraine’s defense needs.
