The US is ready to fully supply Europe with gas.

For the first time, Europe imported more liquefied natural gas than pipeline gas.

At the G7 meeting in Japan, the US plans to promote the export of American natural gas to the EU, said the speaker of the House of Representatives, Kevin McCarthy. He said that parliament speakers will discuss energy policy and framed his agenda in the context of Europe’s efforts to cut off Russian gas in response to Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

“If we simply replace Russian natural gas with American gas in Europe alone for one year, we will reduce CO2 emissions by 218 billion tons because our natural gas is cleaner,” McCarthy added. According to him, America would be economically stronger, prices would decline, and the world would be safer.

By the end of 2022, Moscow had lost the EU gas market, and Brussels does not plan to resume purchases from Russia. Therefore, the supply of American natural gas would avoid fluctuations in gas prices and further limit Russian attempts at energy blackmail.
