The US and Australia condemn the Russian war against Ukraine and agree to increase weapons production.

In the final statement regarding the results of ministerial consultations, the countries call on the Russian Federation to “immediately, completely and unconditionally” withdraw its troops from Ukraine and emphasized the need for Russia to compensate Ukraine for the damage it caused in the invasion. High-ranking officials of both countries declared their support for the Ukrainian Peace Summit and called on countries that influence Russia, particularly China, to stop supporting the Russian defense industry.

As a result of the meetings, the US and Australian governments agreed to increase the production of ammunition to deter China in the Indo-Pacific region. The countries will also produce guided missile launch systems (GMLRS), which launch surface-to-surface missiles, and Precision Strike Missiles (PrSM), a high-precision, long-range missile.

Also, as part of the Southern Cross experiment, the US and Australia continue to work on the development of a hypersonic attack cruise missile (HACM).
