The Turkish Onur Group is set to invest $450M to establish 690 MW of generation capacity in Ukraine by 2030.

The company has announced its intention to develop this new generation capacity in the country, building on their existing 150 MW of solar power plant capacity, which was constructed prior to the war and now operates successfully under the green tariff.

The company stated: “The construction of a 50 MW solar power plant in the Vinnytsia region and 164 MW of storage (batteries) is underway. This is over $60M in investment, we plan to finish by the end of the year.”

In addition, Onur Group plans to build 120 MW of wind power plant capacity in Transcarpathia, with an estimated investment of around €120M. Overall, they are developing a total of 320 MW of wind power. The group is also pursuing new projects in the Lviv and Volyn regions and is actively discussing loans with international financial institutions.

Onur Group is close to completing the first phase of a wind farm in Volyn for OKKO, with a second phase projected to be around 190 MW. In total, they have initiated a project totaling 340 MW in Volyn. Ultimately, Onur Group’s investment in Ukraine is expected to reach $650M by 2030.
