The EU will buy weapons for Ukraine’s military from Ukrainian manufacturers.

EU states will purchase weapons for the Defense Forces of Ukraine from Ukrainian manufacturers through the European Peace Facility, said Minister of Strategic Industry Oleksandr Kamyshin after the Ukraine-EU Defense Industries Forum.

The forum participants also discussed the mechanism of using profits from frozen Russian assets and the Peace Fund to finance the Ukrainian defense industry – either directly or through any of the EU member states. The parties discussed specific steps to implement the European Defense Industry Program (EDIP). This will allow Ukraine to participate in all EU defense and industrial programs.

At the same time, opening the Office of Defense Innovations in Kyiv should become an opportunity for European startups to respond to Ukraine’s urgent needs.

As well, Kosovo’s Minister of Defense Ejup Maqedonci announced that Ukraine will receive mortar ammunition in various calibers in addition to trucks, armored vehicles, tactical vehicles, and other equipment that have already been transferred to Ukraine.
