The economic and anti-corruption effect of digitalization has exceeded UAH 16B: three anti-corruption decisions were adopted.

The anti-corruption and economic effect of digitization in Ukraine was estimated at UAH 16.3B.

These results were achieved in two years, said Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal. He noted that digitalization eliminates the human factor and brings government services closer to a distant person with one click. During the government meeting, officials made several important decisions to fight corruption.

“Ukraine will join the working group on combating bribery in international business transactions. We already have the potential candidate status for joining the EU. Step by step, we are getting closer to full membership,” Shmyhal noted.

In addition, the government approved a draft law bringing Ukrainian legislation to the standards of the International Anti-Money Laundering Group (FATF). Among other things, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the methodology for determining the ultimate beneficial owner of the enterprise.

As Shmyhal noted, this decision will continue the implementation of FATF standards: “We fulfill the conditions for receiving EU macro-financial assistance and obligations on the way to membership in the EU.”
