Penny Pritzker, the US special representative, answered a question about the economic sectors that are ready for investment now: “Ukraine’s agriculture feeds 400 million people in the world and can feed 600M. These are huge opportunities, and now that the Black Sea is functioning, you see a huge export of not only agricultural products but also metals, which helped increase the state’s income and contributed to the economy’s growth.”
She emphasized that the energy sector is another big area of opportunity, as well as construction, transport, and logistics. In addition, according to her critical minerals are another industry that presents great opportunities in Ukraine. Pritzker named the defense industry and technology as two more areas foreign companies should consider investing in.
The Ministry of Economy notes that in order to strengthen the coordination of investments with Ukraine’s partners, the Strategic Investment Council plans to approve a single portfolio of public investment projects for the fall of next year.
