According to the State Statistics Service, zero inflation growth was recorded in Ukraine in July, but economists believe it will be different in August and the following months. The situation is unbalanced because enterprises are investing in generators because of mass blackouts.
Therefore, prices will rise because generating electricity in this way is much more expensive than from traditional sources. Also affecting prices are logistical problems and the need to store products in refrigerated warehouses. According to the forecast, inflation will also increase in September and the following months due to the tax increase that is expected to be approved by the parliament, tariffs for communal services, and excise taxes on fuel, tobacco, and sweet carbonated drinks.
Food products will become more expensive from the end of September due to a potential increase in raw material prices for processing enterprises. For example, purchase prices for milk have already increased by 30%. The situation is similar with cereals, the growth of which is also 20-30%.
