The main goal of the initiative is to promote economic development by reducing unemployment, ensure equal access to quality jobs, and create a flexible, inclusive employment system. It is predicted that the unemployment rate will be 10.9% in 2025. Last year, 389,000 people were registered as unemployed, while the actual number of individuals without work is significantly higher.
The future strategy will address several key areas:
- Creating new jobs by supporting small and medium-sized businesses, attracting investment, and developing social entrepreneurship
- Professional reorientation and advanced training aligned with current market needs
- Enhancing inclusivity in the labor market, particularly through flexible and remote forms of employment for youth, women, veterans, and people with disabilities
- Reforming the employment service: digitalizing services, updating the Labor Code, and establishing effective cooperation with employers
The results of a labor market study and the concept’s initial version is planned for June, with the final version of the employment strategy expected to be published in the fall of 2025.
