Computer maker Dell Technologies Inc. joined the ranks of layoffs this week with a plan to lay off about 5% of the staff. PayPal Holdings Inc. announced a reduction of 2,000 jobs, which is 7% of the workforce. IBM, the world’s largest provider of computer services, and German SAP SE, the world’s largest enterprise management software manufacturer, also announced layoffs. In January, Alphabet Inc. confirmed plans to cut about 12,000 jobs, while Intel Corp. decided to lay off several hundred employees in Silicon Valley. Microsoft Corp. will also cut about 10,000 employees. Streaming service Spotify Technology will reduce staff by approximately 6%, or 588 jobs.
