The weighted average price of land in Ukraine increased by 10.4% in the first nine months of the year – up to ₴38,500 ($1,070) per hectare, according to the corresponding report of the KSE. It is noted that 31.1 million hectares of land in Ukraine are privately owned. Hence, a 10.4% increase in price equals an increase in the capitalization of the agricultural land market by ₴115.1B, which corresponds to about a tenth of the revenues from the Ukrainian budget’s general fund in 2023.
The highest prices for agricultural plots are observed in the Ivano-Frankivsk, Lviv, Volyn, Ternopil, Kyiv, and Poltava regions. The lowest are in the territories affected by hostilities and in the frontline regions.
In the third quarter, 21,400 purchase and sale transactions of agricultural land with an area of 43,500 hectares were carried out. At the same time, the land market was much more active in the second and third quarters than in the first due to the growing interest from buyers.
