Hesburger, the leading fast-food chain in Finland, plans to open at least 10 outlets in western Ukraine over the next five years. The total investment for the project will reach €12M. Founded in 1966, Hesburger has grown to include over 480 restaurants across nine countries as of 2025. In Ukraine, Hesburger operates seven locations in Kyiv and the surrounding region.
In March 2025, Hesburger invested €7.3M to establish a production and warehouse facility near Kyiv for the preparation of hamburger patties and to store goods. The plant has a daily processing capacity of up to six tons of meat and aims to supply around 50 restaurants. This marks the first Finnish industrial investment in Ukraine since the outbreak of full-scale war.
Prior to the war, Hesburger operated 38 restaurants in Russia and four in Belarus. In April 2022, the company decided to close all of its Russian outlets.
