Despite declines in attendance and the electricity shortage, restaurant industry revenue increases by 16%.

According to the Poster POS company, restaurant turnover in January-June compared to the corresponding period in 2023 increased by 16%, and the average check, due to price increases, increased by 13% to ₴148 ($3.7). Restaurateurs have been forced to raise their prices in response to rising utility payments, staff salaries, and electricity costs.

In February-April, patronage at food establishments increased, but fell in May-June. Possible reasons for the decline in traffic include economic uncertainty and increased mobilization. However, the overall figure for the half-year turned out to be positive: +2% for the first half of 2024.

The difficult circumstances in which institutions are currently forced to operate have not prevented growth in the market. In the first half of the year, 7,617 FOPs and companies (+3%) were already incorporated under restaurant and food industry codes.

Poster POS is a Ukrainian restaurant automation company that develops accounting and restaurant software with more than 50,000 establishments as clients.
