Ihor Fomenko, the General Director of the Defense Division of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine, stated that several options for exporting Ukrainian defense products are currently being considered. He hopes that the decision will be announced as early as May, as this is becoming an extremely critical issue for the defense industry, which is currently operating at about 40% capacity. Exports have been discussed at various levels for over a year, and everyone understands the necessity of reaching an appropriate decision.

The following are the export conditions:

  1. Products that are not in demand by the Defense Forces of Ukraine, or whose tactical and technical characteristics do not meet the requirements of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, or for which there are insufficient financial resources to procure for Ukraine’s military.
  2. Exported weapons must not end up in the hands of the enemy or countries that support it.
  3. A list of countries to which exports are permitted must be established.
  4. A list of weapons prohibited from export during wartime should be determined to avoid negatively impacting the state’s defense capabilities.
