Qualcomm, a manufacturer of chips, software, and IT services, purchased the Ukrainian startup Augmented Pixels, reported ain.ua. The publication suggests that Augmented Pixels’ technology and expertise will allow Qualcomm to more rapidly develop its own direction called Extended Reality – as the company calls the areas of Mixed Reality, Virtual Reality, and Augmented Reality. The startup has attracted about $7M in investments during its existence. Augmented Pixels has offices in the United States and Ukraine, including Kyiv and Odesa. The deal’s price wasn’t disclosed; however, different sources speculate that the maximum threshold of the agreement is in the range of $20-30M, but not more than $50M.
