The EFI Group plans to build the glass factory in the spring of 2025.
“This is a very complex project; we have been working on it for two years. I hope that by the end of the year we will be able to announce the start of construction,” according to the company.
The total investment in one production line is about €230M, with about €100M in equipment financing from European partners. After establishing production, the company plans to sell its glass exclusively in the Ukrainian market. Producing glass in Ukraine will help the state to save up to €200M in foreign exchange per year.
“Now we are importing equipment for one production line, and after the end of the war, we will need to add a second production line, so we designed the plant with two production lines – that’s another €200M in investment. Glass is a very promising product; its technological uses include energy-efficient windows and solar panels, and it also has applications in automotive industry, and armored glass,” EFI Group added.
