A Turkish business continues its investment in Ukraine: A new wind farm will be built in the Zhytomyr region.

German companies are building wind and solar power plants in Ukraine, and the country urgently needs 5-6 GW of new generation.

A Turkish business continues its investment in Ukraine: A new wind farm will be built in the Zhytomyr region.

Turkey is one of the countries contributing significantly to Ukraine’s energy security, accounting for 8% of renewable energy production in Ukraine, and current Turkish investments in the energy sector total about $600M. After these investments are developed, more than 10% of Ukraine’s renewable energy will be supplied by Turkish companies, said Burak Pehlivan, the president of Turkish-Ukrainian Business Association (TUİD).

Turkey is also now among the leading countries in the supply of equipment and materials related to the energy sector (transformers and cables).

Additionally, authorities in the Zhytomyr region have signed a memorandum with a Turkish company to build a wind farm in the area. As a result, the alternative Zhytomyr region’s energy capacity will be enhanced with an additional 100-200 MW of wind generation.

Turkish investors already have experience in the Ukrainian renewable energy sector, making it possible to scale businesses quickly and effectively. Last year, Turkish Atlas Global Energy announced it will build new wind power capacity in the Zhytomyr region.
