The Mostyska container terminal, which began operations in mid-2022, handled more than 72,400 TEU of containerized cargo in 2023, the Lemtrans logistics company reported. The total volume of freight was 286,000 tons. About half, 122,000 tons, were grain cargoes, 62,000 tons were bulk cargoes.
“We expect a deepening of integration and an increase in cargo flow from the EU, as well as an increase in the level of containerization,” said the Mostyska Dry Port company, adding that capital investments in the development of container terminal capacities did not stop in 2023 and amounted to ₴100M ($2.6M).
In 2024, the company plans to increase the terminal’s production capacity through the expansion of the operation areas for processing and container storage, as well as to actively develop counter-trailer transportation between the terminal and EU countries.
The total area of the dry port is 36 hectares, and the logistical advantage is the presence of both 1,435-mm and 1,520-mm gauge railway tracks.
