German MP Marcus Faber said that German defense company Flensburger Fahrzeugbau Gesellschaft (FFG) has started constructing a service center for armored vehicles in Ukraine.
According to him, deploying repair capacities within the country will significantly increase efficiency and reduce the time required to restore equipment to service. With the move, FFG will become the second German defense company after Rheinmetall to build its own facilities on Ukraine’s territory.
FFG is one of the largest suppliers of armored vehicles to Ukraine. The company specializes in repairing military equipment such as Leopard 1A5 tanks, WiSENT 1 MC engineering vehicles, Pionierpanzer 2A1 Dachs, and IRIS-T SLS anti-aircraft system launchers.
Meanwhile, Sweden transferred about $5M to the NATO fund to assist Ukraine. The money will be used to purchase defense equipment, fuel, medicines, and demining equipment.
