A €130M waste processing cluster will be built in the Poltava region.

Five waste recycling clusters are planned to be opened in the west of Ukraine.

Five waste processing plants in Transcarpathia will attract €152M in investment and create 600 jobs.

Four plants will be located in the Lubenska, Kremenchuk, Poltava, and Kobelyacka communities, which will ensure affordable logistics and allow waste processing for the entire region. Several modern processing technologies will be used at the factories – processing of organic waste with subsequent production of biomethane, deep sorting with the selection of resource-valuable materials, etc. The facilities will be able to process up to approximately 500,000 tons of waste per year.

According to Minister of Ecology Ruslan Strilets, such projects cost about €120-130M. Negotiations with European and American partners are currently underway. “Our common goal is to start the processes of creating a waste processing cluster in the region, which will solve waste problems”.

According to the region administration, about 280,000 tons of solid household waste is generated in the region every year.
