Zelenskyy will demand guarantees of further American support from Biden in the event Trump is victorious.
President Zelenskyy will press for security guarantees from the US, so that if Donald Trump wins the presidential election, Ukraine will not be forced into an unfavorable peace agreement that would involve relinquishing territories now occupied by Russia.
In this way, Zelenskyy wants to “protect from Trump” American support for Kyiv after Trump and his vice-presidential candidate promised to end the war in Ukraine through territorial concessions.
“Let’s do it today while the officials who want Ukraine’s victory are in office,” Zelenskyy said.
The Victory Plan contains four main points, one of which is a request for Western security guarantees similar to the mutual defense pact among NATO members. The plan also includes the continuation of the Ukrainian military’s offensive in the Kursk region, a request for modern weapons, and international financial assistance for Ukraine’s beleaguered economy.
Zelenskyy will present the plan to Biden as well as the US presidential candidates, Kamala Harris and Donald Trump.
