Zelenskyy insists on the creation of a global platform for assessing the damage to the environment.

platform for assessing the damage to the environment.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, has addressed his appeal to the UN Conference on Climate Change participants. According to Ukraine’s president, Russia’s war against Ukraine has created an energy crisis, as a result of which countries are forced to return to coal-powered energy generation to lower energy prices for their people. In addition, the Russian war has brought an acute food crisis to the world. It has had the greatest impact on those countries that suffer from climate change – catastrophic droughts and large-scale floods. Moreover, the Russian war has destroyed two million hectares of Ukrainian forest in less than half a year. In addition, the Russian army has turned the Zaporizhzhya NPP into a military training ground and is constantly connecting and disconnecting nuclear reactors to the power system, creating a significant safety hazard.
