“The ship company owners approached us. They said they were ready to continue exporting grain. If Ukraine lets us do it, and Turkey allows our ships through, then everyone is ready to continue supplying grain,” President Zelenskyy said. He instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to prepare an official proposal for the UN and Turkey.
Zelenskyy emphasized that there were no direct agreements between Ukraine and Russia, and the withdrawal of the Russians concerns only its agreement with the UN and Turkey. “There were two agreements: Ukraine, Turkey, UN; another agreement – Russia, Turkey, UN. Therefore, when Russia stopped the grain deal, it broke its agreements with UN Secretary-General Guterres and President Erdogan. Not with us. We did not have any agreements with them,” the president emphasized.
Mykhailo Podolyak, the adviser to the head of Office of the President of Ukraine, considers it expedient to further secure the grain corridor with military patrols.
