Zelenskyy admits that Ukraine is not ready to deter Russia's new summer offensive and asks for more aid.

The Ukrainian Defense Forces have managed to contain the Russian offensive during the harsh winter months. But they are not ready to hold back a new offensive from the Russian Federation, which is expected at the end of spring or at the beginning of summer this year, said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

“We need help now,” the Ukrainian president emphasized.

He drew attention to the fact that Russia holds the advantage in a war that has turned into a grueling artillery clash with its greater firepower and long-range weapons. Therefore, the president emphasized that Ukraine’s military most urgently needs US Patriot air defense systems and artillery.

Zelenskyy thanked Ukraine’s partners for their help and added that it is also beneficial for the US to help Kyiv since the lion’s share of the allocated funds remains in America.

“The Western munitions go to Ukraine, but their production takes place in the US and employs American people, so the money and taxes remain in the country“, Zelenskyy added.
