Ukrainian pilots are already undergoing training on F-16 fighters in Great Britain and Sweden, the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported. The Ministry of Defense of Denmark reported that Ukrainian pilots will begin training on F-16 fighter jets in Denmark at the end of August.

At the same time, the US has approved sending F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine from Denmark and the Netherlands as soon as pilot training is completed, Reuters reported, citing an anonymous US official. US Secretary of State Antony Blinken sent letters to his Danish and Dutch counterparts assuring them that the requests would be approved.

Denmark’s Ministry of Defense confirmed that the country will transfer 19 F-16s, and Netherlands Prime Minister Mark Rutte confirmed supplying 42 F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. In total, Ukraine will receive 61 Western fighter jets when these deliveries are made.

As well, Czech Defense Minister Jana Černochová has allowed the transfer of Soviet Mi-24 attack helicopters to Ukraine.
