The German project deaidua.org reported that Germany is providing Ukraine with Sonobot 5 surface drones. 15 such drones have already been received; another 55 will be delivered later. These drones, developed by the German company EvoLogics GmbH, are designed to survey rivers, beaches, and port areas and inspect objects in and around the water.
Meanwhile, as reported by the Canadian office of the CBC, the Canadian army plans to hand over dozens of old armored personnel carriers for recycling and scrap. The following equipment is intended to be decommissioned and replaced with new equipment:
- 67 out of 140 tracked light armored vehicles (TLAVs) are already being used as a source of spare parts for another 73 armored personnel carriers
- all M113 amphibious assault vehicles
- 195 armored reconnaissance vehicles, LAV II Bison and 149 Coyote
At the same time, the private company Armatec Survivability (London) has offered to repair these vehicles and transfer them to Ukraine.
Canada has already transferred weapons worth $1.8B to Ukraine: Leopard 2A4 tanks, new ACSVs, and Roshel Senator armored personnel carriers.
