Which countries are most welcoming to Ukrainian refugees and encourage their stay?

Many European nations are eager for Ukrainian refugees to remain, according to migration policy expert Andriy Haidutsky. He notes that these are mainly countries that have recognized the importance of attracting immigrants to prevent factories from closing. This primarily includes the Scandinavian countries.

However, this is not the case in Hungary or Poland, where significant negative sentiment toward foreign workers persist, and hiring preferences for foreigners primarily favor Ukrainians. Eastern EU countries, on the other hand, are experiencing the most acute labor shortages, prompting them to quickly prepare their populations for a multicultural society and liberalize their legislation to facilitate the hiring of foreigners. This especially applies to Poland, Hungary, and Slovakia.

The expert predicts that as financial support from Germany decreases, some of the over 1.2 million Ukrainian refugees may relocate to countries with lower living costs. Furthermore, Germany is already planning to reduce the annual asylum application quota to 100,000, increase deportations, and suspend the family reunification program.
