What agricultural products did Ukraine purchase abroad in 2024?

Last year, the Institute of Agrarian Economics reported that agricultural products worth $7.82B were imported to Ukraine, which is 9.7% more than in 2023. The structure of these imported supplies is dominated by several product groups: fish and seafood ($929M), fruits, berries and nuts ($866M), alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages ($808M), cocoa products ($505M), tobacco products ($490M), seeds and oilseeds ($430M). These products formed 64% of Ukraine’s total agricultural imports.

The EU remains the leading supplier of agricultural products to Ukraine. For the sixth year in a row, the EU’s share exceeded half of Ukraine’s agricultural imports, amounting to 51.3%. Since 2017, Poland has held first place in the ranking of suppliers. Last year, it sold $925M worth of agricultural products to Ukraine (-3% compared to 2023).

Last year’s food imports ranked third largest (in monetary terms) since 1991. They grew for the second year in a row, demonstrating stabile Ukrainian demand for foreign products to complement the domestic product range.
