The Times says that Western intelligence has long known the name of a Ukrainian – the private sponsor who allegedly financed the sabotage of the Russian Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 pipelines. His name was deliberately withheld to protect Ukraine from a public dispute with Germany, which provides the country with military aid. It is emphasized that the individual is not related to President Zelenskyy’s government. Earlier, the NYT also published an article stating that non-governmental groups, which may have included Russians and Ukrainians, were behind the destruction of the gas pipelines. And according to the German media, the investigation has identified a vessel involved in the sabotage and believes it is connected to Ukraine. However, defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov denies Ukraine’s involvement in this incident.
