During a conversation with journalists, the US Special Representative for Ukraine’s Economic Recovery, Penny Pritzker, said: “The leaders of your government said that there will be privatization, and they called on us to help with the involvement of American companies.”
She named the conditions under which investors will be ready to buy assets in Ukraine.
First, Ukraine must provide high-quality due diligence – provide complete information about the business object.
Second, the investor must understand the state of the regulatory environment and the industry in general. “If a company is engaged in financial services, he will want to know who its regulator is, who manages this regulator, what the rules are, and how well they work,” said Pritzker.
Third, “if there will be partnerships, who are these partners, and what is their reputation? Because Western companies that want to invest or would like to do so must adhere to international standards. They do business worldwide and cannot afford to damage their reputation for the sake of one investment in Ukraine,” Pritzker stressed.
