Ukrainian Railways (UZ) transported almost 11.7 million tons of cargo in September, which is 8.4% more than August’s total, the company reported. When compared to March’s indicator, it represents a 41% increase. In September, 5.8 million tons of cargo were transported domestically (-5.7%), where exports amounted to 5.2 million tons (+29.8%) and imports 632,000 tons (+7.6%). Also, due to unblocked seaports, UZ recorded an increase in strategic cargo: grain (+63.2%), oil and oil products (+7.3%), ferrous metals (+13.8%), salt (+43 .2%), coke (+12.6%), and hard coal (+1.6%). However, there was a drop in construction materials (-9.3%), as well as iron, and manganese ore (-21.2%), which is related to the present market situation.
