US-made components were found in Iranian Drones.

Shahed 136 - Iranian-made loitering ammunition.

An Iranian Shahed-136 drone, shot down by Ukrainian air defense in the fall of 2022, consists of parts manufactured by American companies. According to CNN, of the 52 components removed from the Iranian Shahed-136 drone, 40 were produced by 13 American companies. The companies that made the other 12 components are from Canada, Switzerland, Japan, Taiwan, and China. The authors of the article note that Iranian companies under sanctions are successfully circumventing bans on supplying them with key components and electronics. For example, Iran Aircraft Manufacturing Industries Corporation (HESA), which designed the Shahed-136, has been under US sanctions for 15 years – since 2008. At the same time, there is no evidence that any manufacturing companies are deliberately exporting their technologies to circumvent sanctions and often cannot ensure full control over the actions of their distributors.
