As of the end of April, 91,000 Ukrainian refugees legally work in the Czech Republic, writes Hospodarske Noviny. About 85% of working Ukrainians are in insured labor relations and pay insurance premiums and taxes to the state. In 2022, Ukrainians paid the equivalent of $376M in taxes and fees.
Ukrainians pay insurance premiums on their own if their monthly salary exceeds 10,000 kroner ($465), and in the case of concluding an employment contract, under which you can work no more than 20 hours a week, insurance premiums are paid when earning more than 4,000 kroner.
The Ministry of Labor indicated an increase in the number of Ukrainians who signed long-term full-time contracts with employers this year. At the same time, about 80% of Ukrainians still work low-paid jobs. At the end of April, 225,100 Ukrainians aged 18 to 65 in the Czech Republic had protection visas.
