Last year, Ukrainians purchased over 1,600 real estate properties in Turkey and became the third largest foreign buyer after the Russian Federation and Iran, according to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK).
It is noted that Turkey is an attractive country for many foreigners due to its convenient location between Europe and Asia, a warm climate, a developed real estate market (a wide selection of properties, including villas, apartments, etc.), and the opportunity to obtain a residence permit through the purchase of real estate.
Russia has held first place for several years in a row, although in 2024 Russian activity fell compared to the previous year. Russians purchased 4,867 properties, compared to 16,300 properties in 2022.
The minimum value of Turkish real estate that is required to obtain a residence permit was raised in 2023 from $50,000 (in small towns) and $75,000 (in megacities) to $200,000.
