As of November 2024, 22,557 retail outlets in eight main retail sectors operated under the brands of the 110 members of the Ukrainian Retailers Association. The number of stores increased by 2,279 in the first 10 months of the year. At the same time, 731 retail outlets were closed for various reasons. The net increase is 1,548 retail outlets.
Three retail sectors demonstrated the greatest network expansion. In first place is the retail pharmaceutical sector, which accounted for 43% of all new retail facilities, with 977 new locations opened in January-October. Another 25% comes from non-food retail, including Drogerie and one-dollar-store chains. This retail sector expanded by 578 stores. Grocery retail closes out the top three with a 17% share of all openings.
The largest number of stores is concentrated in Kyiv and the region with 5,420 (+592 stores). In total, more than a hundred new retail facilities have appeared in six regions, including Kyiv, Dnipro, Lviv, Odesa, Kharkiv, and Khmelnytskyi.
